Alana Zell

Executive Vice President

Alana leads the Human Capital function, partnering with management teams and boards across the portfolio to shape leadership strategy and build high-performing executive teams.

Before joining Serent, Alana spent six years at Vista Equity Partners, most recently as Executive Director of Talent Acquisition, where she led C-suite recruiting across four funds and a portfolio of more than 90 software companies. Earlier in her career, she spent over a decade at PierceGray, a retained executive search firm focused on operations and commercial leadership roles for private equity–backed businesses. Alana holds a B.A. in Psychology from Williams College, where she was a member of the varsity basketball team.

Originally from just north of Boston, Alana brings her competitive energy from the court into everything she does. A proud Williams College alum, she still channels her inner point guard: focused, fast-paced, and team-oriented. Outside of work, she’s happiest after a great workout, a good meal with a glass of wine, and R&B playing in the background with her two kids nearby.
