Dexter Hopen

Partner

Dexter is a Partner at Serent Capital. He leads Serent’s investment efforts in the education, hospitality, and travel sectors.

Since joining Serent in 2013, Dexter has helped build and co-lead several practices, including EdTech, Hospitality Tech, and Automotive Tech. While initially joining as an Associate, Dexter’s decade-long dedication to the firm has led to several notable investments. He has contributed significantly to the firm development with his leadership of investment execution best practices and through his leadership of the associate program. Prior to joining Serent Capital, Dexter worked at Morgan Stanley as an Investment Banker in the Global Transportation group in New York. While there, he assisted clients in the logistics, trucking, and shipping sectors execute M&A transactions, equity offerings and debt financings. Dexter holds a B.S. in Finance and Statistics from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University, where he graduated summa cum laude.

Dexter proudly holds onto his New Jersey roots, once sold sneakers to Bon Jovi. He enjoys mountain biking, spending time with his two kids, and casual bocce competition.
