Serent Capital, a growth-focused private equity firm that invests in founder-led enterprise software and tech-enabled services companies, announced today it has been recognized on Inc.’s Founder-Friendly Investors list for the fourth consecutive year. The list honors the private equity and venture capital firms with the best track record of success backing entrepreneurs.
“Fully investing in an entrepreneur, and their innovative vision, involves far more than the financial investment. By developing relationships with and supporting entrepreneurs for the long-term, these private equity firms are more than investors, they’re partners,” says Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. media.
From inception, Serent set out to build a distinctly different firm that prioritizes the founders and their companies. The firm strives to be a true business partner and surrounds its portfolio companies with the tools, people, and resources they need to achieve their vision.
Serent’s portfolio includes more than 40 founder-led, industry-changing B2B software and tech-enabled services companies who are scaling up by using Serent’s toolkit of growth resources.
“Serent is a values-driven based firm and one of our core values is partnership, which means putting the portfolio first,” stated Kevin Frick, Partner at Serent Capital. He continued, “By investing in top-tier resources and people, like our Growth Team, we put our portfolio companies and their growth first every day.”
To help founders scale their companies, Serent has built an in-house Growth Team that includes over a twenty former operators and management consultants. Serent’s in-house Growth Team are collaborative problem-solvers that understand founders’ unique challenges and how to tackle them. From strategic, operational support in areas such as sales & marketing strategy, payments integration, M&A, to executive talent recruiting, the firm is equipped with the resources needed to accelerate growth within companies.
“There is nothing more special than an entrepreneur that starts a company. When we invest in a company, we are careful to preserve everything that makes it special, like the customers and culture, while helping them scale successfully,” said Prital Kadakia, Partner at Serent Capital. “The Growth Team brings a wealth of expertise and purpose-built resources to achieve that vision and create tremendous value for customers, employees, and the company.”
Serent has nearly $5 billion dollars of assets under management and offices in Austin, Texas and San Francisco, California. In addition to being recognized as a founder-friendly firm, Serent has been recognized as a Top 25 Private Equity Firm and Top 50 Private Equity Innovator by Blu Wave this year.

To compile the list, Inc. went straight to the source: entrepreneurs who have sold to private equity and venture capital firms. Founders filled out a questionnaire about their experiences partnering with private equity and venture capital firms and shared data on how their portfolio companies have grown during these partnerships.
