SERENT INVESTMENT TEAM

Description

Optimal Blue is a leading provider of enterprise lending software as a service (SaaS) to the mortgage industry. As a founder-owned company, Optimal Blue did not have a formal Board of Directors in place at the time of Serent’s investment

Actions

  • Serent worked closely with the management team to recruit a number of external board members, who could bring a diverse set of insights to the business as it tackled the challenges of rapid growth
  • These board members included the CFO of a large public real estate technology company as well as the former dean of a top-ranked MBA program

Outcomes

The Board of Directors brought valuable insights to the management team in the areas of go-to-market strategy, product development, and organization building. The Board also served as a thought partner to management in evaluating the strategic implications of M&A opportunities
